Past Continuous Tense (Hindi to English)

Recognization (पहचान) :-   

इस tense के हिन्दी वाक्यों के अन्त में रहा था, रही थी, रहे थे आदि शब्द आते हैं |

For example  

  • मैं स्कूल जा रहा था |
  • उसके पिताजी अखबार नहीं पढ रहे थे |
  • क्या तुम पेड पर नहीं चढ रहे थे ?
  • मैं ऑनलाइन स्पीकिंग कोर्स खरीद रहा था।
  • वे घर नहीं जा रहे थे ?


Past Continuous Tense (Hindi to English)  

Affirmative Sentences :- 


  1. जब  मैं स्कूल जा रहा था |
  2. नौ साल की एक सुन्दर लडकी टोकरियाँ बैच रही थी |
  3. वहाँ एक शरारती लडका खडा था |
  4. वह उसे टकटकी लगाकर देख रहा था |
  5. ठंडी हवा चल रही थी |
  6. लोग अपनी ज़रूरत का सामान खरीद रहे थे |
  7. कुछ लडके एक पेड के नीचे बैठे थे |
  8. एक छोटा बन्दर कार चला रहा था |
  9. सोनू निगम स्टेज पर गाना गा रहा था |
  10. मोर जंगल में नाच रहा था |

Rules of Translation 

Past Continuous Tense के sentences का हिन्दी में अनुवाद करते समय सबसे पहले subject लिखते हैं | इसके बाद helping verb was/were subject के अनुसार लिखते हैं | अगर subject एक वचन हो तो was लिखते हैं और अगर subject बहूवचन हो तो were लिखते हैं | इसके बाद verb की ing form लिखते हैं फिर object लिखते हैं
इनके अलावा अगर कुछ और भी words sentence के अन्दर हैं तो उनको object के बाद लिखते हैं |

Formula  

Subject + was/were + verb(ing) + object + ..........

Translation :-  


  1. When I was going to school.
  2. A beautiful girl of nine was selling baskets.
  3. A naughty boy was standing there.
  4. He was staring her.
  5. The cold wind was blowing.
  6. The people were buying their needed things.
  7. Some boys were sitting under a tree.
  8. A small monkey was driving the car.
  9. Sonu Nigam was singing a song on the stage.
  10. The peacock was dancing in the forest.

Past Continuous Tense (Hindi to English)  



Negative Sentences :-  


  1. मैं अपने कमरे में बैठकर पत्र नहीं लिख रहा था | 
  2. वह फोन पर मुझसे बात नहीं कर रही थी |
  3. वे मैदान में बैठ कर अखबार नहीं पढ रहे थे |
  4. हम अपनी क्लास में शोर नहीं मचा रहे थे |
  5. नौकर बाजार से सब्ज़ी नहीं ला रहा था |
  6. लडकियाँ स्कूल नहीं जा रही थीं |
  7. ये लडके पतंग नहीं उडा रहे थे |
  8. खिलाड़ी मैच खेल नहीं रहे थे |
  9. बच्चे नदी में नहीं नहा रहे थे |
  10. माली पौधों को पानी नहीं दे रहा था |

Formula :-   

Subject + was/were + not + verb(ing) + object + .........

Translation :-   


  1. I was not writing letter sitting in my room.
  2. She was not talking to me by phone.
  3. They were not reading newspaper sitting in the field.
  4. We were not making a noise in our class.
  5. The servent was not bringing the vegetables from the market.
  6. The girls were not going to school.
  7. These boys were not flying the kite.
  8. The players were not playing the match.
  9. The children were not bathing in the river.
  10. The gardener was not watering the plants.

Past Continuous Tense (Hindi to English)     

Interrogative Sentences (जब वाक्य के शुरू में "क्या" हो)


  1. क्या आसमान में सितारे चमक रहे थे |
  2. क्या चपरासी घन्टी बजा रहा था |
  3. क्या सूनार अँगूठी बना रहा था |
  4. क्या गली में ठंडी हवा चल रही थी |
  5. क्या माधुरी स्टेज पर डांस कर रही थी |
  6. क्या मास्टरजी विद्यार्थियों को धमका रहे थे |
  7. क्या लडकियाँ एक मधुर गीत गा रही थीं |
  8. क्या स्टेज पर कोई भाषण दे रहा था |
  9. क्या ट्रेन स्टेशन पर खडी थी |
  10. क्या लडके रविवार को फिल्म देख रहे थे |

Formula     

Was/were + subject + verb(ing) + object + ..............

Translation :-  


  1. Were the stars shining in the sky ?
  2. Was the peon ringing the bell ?
  3. Was the goldsmith making a ring ?
  4. Was the cold wind blowing in the street ?
  5. Was the Madhuri dancing on the stage ?
  6. Was the teacher scolding the students ?
  7. Were the girls singing a sweet song ?
  8. Was anyone delivering the speech on the stage ?
  9. Was the train standing on the station ?
  10. Were the boys watching the film on Sunday ?


Past Continuous Tense (Hindi to English)   

Interrogative Sentences ( जब वाक्य के बीच में question हो)    


  1. वह लडका इस गली में क्यों खडा था ?
  2. तुम्हारे पापा इतनी ज़ोर ज़ोर से क्यों चिल्ला रहे थे ?
  3. तुम वहाँ उस समय क्या कर रहे थे ?
  4. राहुल धीरे धीरे क्यों चल रहा था ?
  5. लोग गंगा में स्नान क्यों कर रहे थे ?
  6. वह तुमसे क्या कह रहा था ?
  7. डा. अब्दुल कलाम परमाणु क्यों बना रहे था ?
  8. कु. मायावती अपने भाषण में क्या कह रही थी ? 
  9. दरवाज़ा कौन खटखटा रहा था ?
  10. तुम किससे बात कर रहे थे ?

Formula :-      

Question Word + was/were + subject + verb(ing) + object + ............

Translation 


  1. Why was that boy standing in this street ?
  2. Why was your papa shouting so loudly ?
  3. What were you doing there at that time ?
  4. Why was Rahul walking slowly ?
  5. Why were the people bathing in the Ganga ?

Past Continuous Tense (Hindi to English)   

Negative Interrogative Sentences :-  


  1. तुम हमारे घर क्यों नहीं आ रहे थे ?
  2. वह मुझसे बात क्यों नहीं कर रहा था ?
  3. स्कूल कौन नहीं जा रहा था ?
  4. खाना कौन नहीं खा रहा था ?
  5. वह लडकी एक मधुर गीत क्याें नहीं गा रही थी ?
  6. इस स्कूल के लडके फुटबॉल क्यों नहीं खेल रहे थे ?
  7. माताजी खाना क्यों नहीं बना रही थीं |
  8. बच्चे ताली क्यों नहीं बजा रहे थे ?
  9. बूढे गंगा में क्यों नहीं नहा रहे थे ?
  10. पेड पर कौन नहीं चढ रहा था ?

Formula :-   

Question + was/were + subject + not + verb(ing) + object + ..........

Translation :-   

  1. Why were you not coming to our home ?
  2. Why was he not talking to me ?
  3. Who was not going to school ?
  4. Who was not eating the food ?
  5. Why was that girl not singing a sweet song ?
  6. Why were the boys of this school not playing the football ?
  7. Why was the mother not cooking the food ?
  8. Why were the children not claping ? 
  9. Why were the old men not bathing in the ganga ?
  10. Who was not climbing in the tree ?

      Recognization (पहचान) :- 

      Past IndefiniteTense में बीते हुए समय में किसी क्रिया या घटना के बारे में बताया जाता है |
      Past Indefinite Tense में हिन्दी वाक्यों के अन्त में  ता था, ती थी, ते थे, या, ये, यी,  आ, ई आदि शब्द आते हैं |

  •       हम रोज़ाना स्कूल जाते थे |
  •       उसने कहा

  •       उसने मुझे नहीं देखा |
  •       क्या तुम उससे कभी नहीं मिले ?
  •       तुमने का समान ऑनलाइन क्यों नहीं खरीदा ?       


    Past Indefinite Tense (Hindi to English) 

      Affirmative Sentences :-

      1-    मेरा भाई इंश्योरेंस कंपनी में काम करता था|
      2-    मैंने कहा |
      3-    उसने सोचा |
      4-    उसने मुझे देखा |
      5-    मैंने Amazon से खरीदी।
      6-    राधा ने गाना गाया |
      7-    बिजली भाग गयी |
      8-    माताजी ने खाना बनाया |
      9-    चोर भाग गया |
    10-    पुलिस ने चोर को पकडा |

      Rules of Translation :- 

      Past indefinite tense में हिन्दी वाक्यों का अँग्रेज़ी में अनुवाद करते समय सबसे पहले subject लिखते हैं इसके बाद verb की 2nd form लिखते हैं फिर object आदि लिखते हैं |


      Formula :-

      Subject + verb(2nd form) + object + ........

      Translation :-

      1-   My Brother worked at insurance company.
      2-   I said.
      3-   She thought.
      4-   She looked at me.
      5-   I bought smart watch from Amazon
      6-   Radha sang a song.
      7-   Electricity went out.
      8-   The mother coocked the food.
      9-   The thief ran away.
    10-   The police caught the thief.

    Past Indefinite Tense (Hindi to English) 

      Negative Sentences :- 

      1-   मायावती ने इलेक्शन नहीं लडा |
      2-   आज पिताजी अॉफिस नहीं गये |
      3-   मैं इस तालाब में नहीं नहाता था |
      4-   उसने मुझे अपनी किताब नहीं दी |
      5-   बन्दर पेड पर नहीं चढा |
      6-   उसे राहुल ने नहीं मारा |
      7-   मैंने उसे नहीं पहचाना |
      8-   उसने कुछ नहीं कहा |
      9-   वह वहाँ जाना नहीं चाहता था |
    10-   मैंने उसे नहीं देखा |

      Formula :- 

      Subject + did not + verb(1st form) + object + ..........

      Translation :- 

      1-    Mayavati did not contest the election.
      2-    Today the father did not go to office. 
      3-    I did not take bath in this pond. 
      4-    He did not give me his book.
      5-    The monkey did not climb in the tree.
      6-    Rahul did not kill him.
      7-    I did not recognize him.
      8-    He said nothing.
      9-    He did not want to go there.
    10-    I did not see him.

    Past Indefinite Tense (Hindi to English)

      6-   Did the child weep loudly ?
      7-   Did you reach the station at 10 o'clock ?
      8-   Did you read this book ?
      9-   Did the thief run on the road ?
    10-   Did the police run after the thief ?

    Past Indefinite Tense (Hindi to English) 

      Interrogative Sentences (जब वाक्य के बीच में question हो)   

      1-    यह तुमने क्या किया ?
      2-    पिताजी कहाँ गये ?
      3-    तम्हें किसने पीटा ?
      4-    यह सब किसने किया ?
      5-    तुम वहाँ क्यों गये ?
      6-    तुमने वहाँ क्या देखा ?
      7-    दरवाज़ा किसने खटखटाया ?
      8-    तुमने यह सब कैसे किया ?
      9-    उसने कौनसी किताब खरीदी ?
    10-    उन्होंने क्या निर्णय लिया ?

      Formula :- 

     Question Word + did + subject + verb(1st form) + object ......

     Note :- 

     "Who" को subject की तरह use करते हैं | "Who" वाले sentences को affirmative sentence की तरह बनाते हैं तथा verb की 2nd form का uset करते हैं |


      Translation :- 

      1-    What did you do this ?
      2-    where did the father go ?
      3-    Who beat you ?
      4-    Who did all this ?
      5-    Why did you go there ?
      6-    What did you see there ?
      7-    Who knocked the door 
      8-    How did you do this all ?
      9-    Which book did he buy ?
    10-    What did they decide ?

    Past Indefinite Tense (Hindi to English) 

     Negative Interrogative Sentences :-   

     1-   तुम वहाँ क्यों नहीं गये ?
     2-   क्या वह आज स्कूल नहीं गयी ?
     3-   क्या अभी तक सूरज नहीं निकला ?
     4-   मैंने उसे क्या नहीं दिया ?
     5-   उसने तुम्हें क्यों नहीं बुलाया ?
     6-   तुमने कौनसी फिल्म नहीं देखी ?
     7-   आज तुमसे मिलने कौन नहीं आया ?
     8-   लडके मैदान में क्रिकेट क्यों नहीं खेले ?
     9-   आज वह लडकी क्लास में क्यों नहीं आयी ? 
   10-   उनहोंने तुम से बात क्यों नहीं की ?

     Formula :-  

     Question + did + subject + not + verb(1st form) + object ...........

Note :

यदि 'who' वाले sentence में not भी  हो तो ऐसे sentence को negative sentence की तरह लिखते हैं तथा did not के साथ verb की first form का use करते हैं |

     Translation :-  

     1-    Why did you not go there ?
     2-    Did she not go to school today ?
     3-    Did the sun not rise yet ?
     4-    What did I not give him ?
     5-    Why did she not call you ?
     6-    Which film did you not watch ?
     7-    Who did not come to meet you today ?
     8-    Why did the boys not play the cricket in the field ?
     9-    Why did that girl not come in the class today ?
   10-    Why did they not talk to you ?

    Present Perfect Continuous Tense (Hindi to English)

      Recognization (पहचान) :-    

      इस tense के वाक्यों से पता चलता है कि कार्य कुछ समय से लगातार जारी है लेकिन पूर्ण नहीं हुआ है | Present Perfect Tense में हिन्दी वाक्यों के अन्त में रहा है, रही है, रहे हैं, रहा हूँ, रहे हो आदि शब्द आते हैं | इस tense में कार्य जारी रहने का समय दिया हुआ होता है जबकि Present Continuous Tense में कार्य जारी रहने का समय नहीं दिया होता है |

    Present Perfect Continuous Tense (Hindi to English)


      Affirmative Sentences :- 

     1-     वह दस मिनट से चाय पी रहा है।
Vah das minute se chai pi raha hai 
     2-     ये लडके दस बजे से क्रिकेट खेल रहे हैं।
Ye ladke 10 baje se cricket khel rahe hai 
     3-     माली दो घन्टे से पौधों में पानी दे रहा है।
Mali do ghante se poudhon mein pani de raha hai 
     4-     मेरा लडका दो साल से इस स्कूल में पढ रहा है।
Mera ladka do sal se is school mein padh raha hai 
     5-     वह दो घन्टे से आपका इन्तज़ार कर रही है।
Vah do ghante se aapka intazar kar rahi hai 
     6-     पिताजी सुबह से अखबार पढ रहे हैं।
Pitaji subha se akhbar padh rahe hain 
     7-     लडके एक घन्टे से स्विम्मिंग पूल में नहा रहे हैं।
Ladke ek ghante se swimming pool mein naha rahe hain 
     8-     वह शरारती लडका दस बजे से पतंग उडा रहा है।
Vah shararti ladka das baje se patang uda raha hai 
     9-     वह बरसों से इस क्षेत्र में कार्य कर रही है।
Vah barson se is shetra mein karye kar rahi hai 
   10-     मैं एक साल से दिल्ली में रह रहा हूँ।
Main ek saal se dilli mein reh raha hun 

     Rules of Translation :- 

     इन वाक्यों को translate करते समय सबसे पहले subject लिखते हैं।
     इसके बाद helping verb has been/have been subject के अनुसार लिखते हैं।
     यदि subject एक बचन(s-ingular number)हो तो helping verb 'has been' use करते हैं।
     यदि subject बहुवचन(plural number) हो तो helping verb 'have been' use करते हैं।
     इसके बाद verb की first form में ing मिलाकर लिखते हैं।
     फिर object लिखते हैं।
     इसके बाद अगर कोई और word वाक्य के अन्दर हो तो उसकी अँग्रेज़ी लिखते हैं।

     Formula :-

     Subject + has been/have been + verb(ing form)  + for/since + time 

     Translation :- 

     1-     He has been taking tea for ten minutes.
     2-     These boys have been playing cricket since ten o'clock.     
     3-     The gardener has been watering the plants for two hours.
     4-     My boy has been studying in this school for two years.
     5-     She has been waiting for you for two hours.
     6-     The father has been reading newspaper since morning.
     7-     The boys have been bathing in the swimming pool for one hour.
     8-     That naughty boy has been flying the kite since ten o'clock.
     9-     She has been working in this field for years.
   10-     I have been living in Delhi for one year.

    Present Perfect Continuous Tense (Hindi to English)

     Negative Sentences :-

     1-    वह सुबह से खाना नहीं खा रहा है।
Vah subha se khana nahin kha rahi hai 
     2-    उसके पिताजी दो दिन से दवा नहीं खा रहे हैं।
Uske pitaji do din se dawa nahin kha rahe hain 
     3-    मैं पिछले साल से ड्राइविंग नहीं कर रहा हूँ।
Main pichhle saal se driving nahin kar rahe hun 
     4-    मैं दस मिनट से अखबार नहीं पढता रहा हूँ।
Main 10 minute se akhbar nahin padhta raha hun 
     5-    विद्यार्थी क्लास में एक घन्टे से शोर नहीं मचा रहे हैं।
Vidyarthi class mein ek ghante se shor nahin macha rahe hain 
     6-    वह घन्टों से मेरा इन्तज़ार नहीं कर रहा है।
Vah ghantoN se mera intezar nahin kar raha hai 
     7-    नौ साल की एक लडकी आधा घन्टे से नहीं चिल्ला रही है।
Nou saal ki ek ladki adha ghante se nahin chilla rahi hai 
     8-    पंछी एक घन्टे से अपने पिंजरे में नहीं बैठते रहे हैं।
Panchhi ek ghante se apne pinjre mein nahin baithte rahe hain 
     9-    इस रास्ते पर एक घन्टे से कोई नहीं चल रहा है।
Is raste per ek ghante se koi nahin chal raha hai 
   10-    राजू एक घन्टे से अपनी किताब नहीं पढ रहा है।
Raju ek ghante se apni kitab nahin padh raha hai 

     Formula :- 

     Subject + has/have + not + been + verb(ing form) + for/since + time

     Translation :-

     1-    He has not been eating the food since morning.
     2-    Her father has not been eating the medicine for two days.
     3-    I have not been driving for last year.
     4-    I have not been reading the newspaper for ten minutes.
     5-    The students have not been making a noise for one hour.
     6-    He has been waiting for me for hours.
     7-    A girl of nine has not been crying for half an hour.
     8-    The birds have not been sitting in their cage for one hour.
     9-    No one has been walking on this way for one hour.
   10-    Raju has not been reading his book for one hour.

    Present Perfect Continuous Tense (Hindi to English)

Kya dhobi subha se kapde dho raha hai 
     3-    क्या स्टेज पर लडकियाँ एक घन्टे से डांस कर रही हैं ?
Kya stage per ladkiyan ek ghante se dance kar rahi hain 
     4-    क्या मास्टर जी विद्यार्थियों को आधा घन्टे से पढा रहे हैं ?
Kya master ji vidyarthiyon ko adha ghante se padha rahe hain 
     5-    क्या डॉक्टर सुबह से मरीज़ों को देख रहा है ?
Kya doctor subha se marizon ko dekh raha hai 
     6-    क्या पिछली रात से बारिश हो रही है ?

     Formula :- 

     Has/Have + subject + been + verb(ing form) + for/since + time

     Translation :-

     1-     Has Radha been doing her homework since ten o'clock ?
     2-     Has the washerman been washing the clothes since morning ?
     3-     Have the girls been dancing on the stage for one hour ?
     4-     Has the teacher been teaching the students for half an hour ?
     5-     Has the doctor been checking the patients since morning ?
     6-     Has it been raining since last night ?
     7-     Have we been going to their home for years ?
     8-     Have you been living in Delhi for two years ?
     9-     Have you been working in this department for five years ?
   10-     Have these two brothers been studying in this very school for two years ?

    Present Perfect Continuous Tense (Hindi to English)

     Interrogative Sentences (जब question word वाक्य के बीच में हो)

     1-     तुम इस कमरे में एक घन्टे से क्या कर रहे हो ?
Tum is kamre mein ek ghante se kya kar rahe ho 
     2-     तुम इतने दिनों से इस शहर में कहां रह रहे हो ?
Tum itne dinon se is shahar mein kahan reh rahe ho 
     3-     उसे एक घन्टे से कौन पुकारता रहा है ? 
Use ek ghante se koun pukarta raha hai 
     4-     तुम दो घन्टे से कहां छुपते रहे हो?
Tum do ghante se kahan chhupte rahe ho 
     5-     तुम दस बजे से किसे ढूँढ रहे हो?
Tum das baje se kise dhundh rahe ho 
     6-     वे सोमवार से क्या करते रहे हैं ?
Ve somvar se kya karte rahe hain 
     7-     वह एक घन्टे से इतनी ज़ोर ज़ोर से क्यों चिल्ला रहा है ?
Vah ek ghante se itni zor zor se kyon chilla raha hai 
     8-     ये लडके इस स्कूल में दो साल से क्या करते रहे हैं ?
Ye ladke is school mein do sal se kya karte rahe hain 
     9-     धोबी सुबह से किसके कपडे धो रहा है ?
Dhobi subah se kiske kapde dho raha hai 
   10-     तुम पिछली रात से कौन सी फिल्म देखते रहे हो ?
Tum pichhli raat se koun si film dekhte rahe ho 

     Formula :- 

     Question Word + has/have +subject + been + verb(ing form) + for/since + time

     Translation :- 

     1-      What have you been doing in this room for one hour ?
     2-      Where have you been living in this sity for so many days ?
     3-      Who has been calling him for one hour ?
     4-      Where have you been hiding for two hours ?
     5-      Whom have you been searching for since ten o'clock ?
     6-      What have they been doing since Monday ?
     7-      Why has he been crying so loudly for one hour ?
     8-      What have these boys been doing in this school for two years ?
     9-      Whose clothes have the washerman been washing since morning ?
   10-      Which film have you been watching since last night ?

   Present Perfect Continuous Tense (Hindi to English)

     Negative Interrogative Sentences :-

     1-      वह एक हफ्ते से स्कूल क्यों नहीं आ रहा है ?
Vah ek hafte se school kyon nahin aa raha hai 
     2-      मास्टरजी तुम्हें दो दिन से क्यों नहीं पढा रहे हैं ? 
Master ji tumhein do din se kyon nahin padha rahe hain 
     3-      ये बच्चे दस मिनट से सडक पर क्यों नहीं खेल रहे हैं ?
Ye bachche das minute se sadak per kyon nahin khel rahe hain 
     4-      तुम कई दिन से काम क्यों नहीं कर रहे हो ?
Tum kai din se kam kyon nahin kar rahe ho 
     5-      वह दो दिन से खाना क्यों नहीं खा रही है ?
Vah do din se khana kyon nahin kha rahi hai 
     6-      इस स्कूल में विद्यार्थियों को एक साल से कौन नहीं पढा रहा है ?
Is school mein vidyarthiyon ko ek sal se koun nahin padha raha hai 
     7-      वह एक महीने से हमारे घर क्यों नहीं आ रहा है ?
Vah ek mahine se hamare ghar kyon nahin aa raha hai 
     8-      तुम दो दिनों से डॉक्टर के पास क्यों नहीं जा रहे हो ?
Tum do dinon se doctor ke pass kyon nahin ja rahe ho 
     9-      राहुल सोमवार से दफ्तर क्यों नहीं आ रहा है ?
Rahul somvar se daftar kyon nahin aa raha hai 
   10-      माली सुबह से पौधों को पानी क्यों नहीं दे रहा है ?
Mali subha se poudhon ko pani kyon nahin de raha hai 

     Translation :- 

     1-      Why has he not been coming to school for one week ?
     2-      Why has the teacher not been teaching you for two days ?
     3-      Why have these children not been playing on the road for ten minutes ?
     4-      Why have you not been doing the work for many days ?
     5-      Why has she not been eating the food for two days ?
     6-      Who has not been reading the students in this school for one year ?
     7-      Why has he not been coming to our home for one month ?  
     8-      Why has you not been going to the doctor for two days ?
     9-      Why has Rahul not been coming to office since monday ?
   10-      Why has the gardner not been watering the plants since morning ?

    Present Perfect Continuous Tense (Hindi to English)
