Definition of Noun

Noun is the name of a person, place, or a thing, idea and quality of a person, a thing and a place.

किसी व्यक्ति, स्थान, या वस्तु के नाम, गुण और विचार को noun कहते हैं।

Kinds of Noun

There are 5 types of Noun

Common Noun

Commom noun is the name that is used for every person, place or thing. It is not a name of any particular person, place or thing.

For example :

man, country, building etc.

Proper Noun

A name that identifies a particular person, place or thing is proper noun.

For example :

Akbar, India, Taj Mahal etc.

Abstract Noun

Abstract noun is the name of a quality, concept or condition these things can not be seen or touched.

For example :

beauty, truth, happiness etc. 

Collective Noun

Collective noun is a word that is used for a group of things, animals or people

For example :

family, cattle etc.

Count and Mass Noun

Count और mass noun को Countable और uncountable noun भी कहते हैं।

Something that can be counted is called countable noun. 

for example :

book, man, monkey, city etc.

Something that can not be counted is called uncountable noun.

for example :

water, sugar, hair etc.

ध्यान दें

जो भी कुछ इस दुनिया के अन्दर है सब noun हैं जो नज़र आ रहा है वह भी और जो नज़र नहीं आ रहा है वह भी।

जिसको टच किया जा सकता है वह noun है और ऐसे भी noun हैं जिन्हें टच नहीं किया जा सकता जैसे- ऑक्सीजन, software etc. 

1. Ravi is a good boy.
2. He is going to school.

'Ravi' noun है 'good' Ravi नामक noun की विशेषता बताता है इसलिए 'good' adjective है।

दूसरे sentence में Ravi के स्थान पर 'He' का use हुआ है 'He' pronoun है, 

'going' noun Ravi द्वारा की गई क्रिया है अतः 'going' verb है 'going' go की ing form है।
